Felicity set up this website and the organisation Soul Midwives UK in 2005 to share her innovative work in the field of holistic death and dying.
Founder of the Hospice of the Heart Trust, she campaigns for the re-visioning, de-medicalising and increased need for the compassionate care for the dying. Author of the book Gentle Dying, her pioneering Gentle Dying Method is now being used by many health professionals across the country. As a practicing Soul Midwife she also works on a one-to-one basis with those in the very last stages of life, helping people to die with compassion,love and dignity. An experienced healer, Reiki Master, shaman and herbalist, she enjoys living life as joyfully as possible. If we can help just one person to die with compassion, love and dignity, everything we do is worthwhile. I am especially interested in the psycho-spiritual aspects of dying and continuing bonds work.

I hold a B.Sc in Biology/Psychology and have been in practice as a holistic healing practitioner for the last 10 years working with physical and emotional body work, trauma healing, peak states of consciousness and shamanic journeying. Hi. I’m Corinne. I’m a spiritual healer and sound practitioner working from my home overlooking the harbour in Gorleston, Norfolk. I am a 45 year old man who has been working as a carer and counsellor for almost 20 years, and am currently in the process of setting up and raising funds to establish The Panda Kids Trust, whose vision is to manifest a beautiful centre in nature to support and celebrate seriously ill children. I work with the passage of the Soul, both into and out of, our physical body. I have trained and worked for many years with shamanic technique and Celestial energies, to witness and offer assistance to individuals in their healing. We enter through many gateways from birth to death, and beyond, and we have the ability to increase our own consciousness. Mostly this is done by developing our self- responsibility, which necessarily means being present for our experience of life. There are times though that the passage can be helped by another, physical death is one of them. When we prepare for our death, if we have the opportunity, we can take away the fear and anticipation. We can walk with courage towards what is just another threshold. Granted, this one involves physical separation from those we love but we can come to peace with this aspect and see beyond the fear.

In my work as a Relationship, Bereavement, and Pre-bereavement Counsellor I became aware that some people felt that they had experienced the death of their loved one with a sense of helplessness. They were also sometimes concerned that the death was not as peaceful as the dying person had hoped for. In ‘facilitating’, i.e. being present in the process, I help to support the dying and their close ones at this very important time. As a qualified Soul Midwife I feel honoured to be working alongside those who are facing death. Whatever the circumstances there are always choices and I aim to help the dying to experience a more peaceful and loving passing. I enjoy giving talks on my work, and also presenting workshops on ‘Looking at our own Death’. I believe that in returning to our old ways of ‘living with our death’, we can become less fearful of this natural part of life. I am privileged to live in the area of Ryedale, North Yorkshire. I work across the area including York, the coast and the beautiful moors.

Hello, I'm Shelly, I have been working in complimentary therapy for 20 years. Journeying through my own personal growth within this lifetime, I have felt an intense calling from the deepest essence of my soul, to assist others on their unique and individual healing journeys. I am a qualified Reiki Master, Healing Breathwork practitioner and Psychotherapist (Inner Child Trauma). I am currently training in 'Shamanic Energy Medicine'. My personal experiences gained whilst training in 'Past Life Regression' and 'Life Between Lives', a few years ago, revealed energies I draw on to assist 'Soul path counselling' for clients. They may be healing through lessons from their 'past' into their 'now' and through transition back into the spiritual realms. I am particularly interested in 'Soul groups' and ancestral healing. I am passionate about supporting another to cross the 'sacred threshold' with dignity, trust, respect and most of all unconditional love. Hello there, my name is Benet.
My life has been touched very directly by death in many ways and at many times and, as I have grown in understanding and reflected upon these experiences, I have become increasingly aware that loss, loneliness and unspoken fears can rob any one of us of the capacity to live our lives joyfully and with a peaceful confidence.
I believe absolutely, as the saying goes, that ‘when those who are used to talking listen to those who are used to listening, then wonderful things can begin to happen’, and know, with certainty, that listening is truly one of the most precious gifts we can offer to another being. As a spiritual healer and soul midwife, it is my greatest privilege to be asked to stand in another person’s sacred space and listen to both the spoken words and the unspoken murmurings of their heart.
My wish is to offer quiet, gentle and loving support to those facing their own death or the loss of a loved one and those who find themselves bereaved. There is much deep healing of the soul to be found in this for the dying and their families as life draws to a close. There is solace too for those facing their own death, in being able to talk through their personal beliefs, wishes and intentions as they near completion of this life-journey.

My passion for healing began when I lost my youngest brother very suddenly to cancer at the age of 28. My family were overwhelmed by grief and didn’t know how to express it. I came to healing via counselling at Relate and holistic massage finally creating a career in healing at the Bristol Cancer Help Centre (now known as the Penny Brohn Cancer Care Centre).
I spent fifteen years as a member of the therapy team at the Bristol Cancer Help Centre giving healing to patients, staff at the centre and my own private clients. Through my work with cancer patients I developed a strong bond with the dying and their immediate family helping them achieve a meaningful death with dignity and without fear.
I advise the dying on how to take control of the rest of their life, helping them sort through the relationships that will be left and to realise that they have a choice about the memories they leave behind.

I’m a self employed complementary therapist who has, for the past seven years, worked in residential care homes offering aromatherapy and gentle massage to older people. I also run stimulating activity and discussion groups in homes.
Death has always been very much a natural part of my own life with the loss of several close family members at an early age. I have also been privileged to share worries and confidences with people contemplating the diagnosis they have just been given, to give gentle hand massages to those entering their final days and to offer support to families after a loved one has died. Most of my life has been spent taking steps that eventually led to me becoming a soul midwife.
